RPRY sixth grade girls in Mrs. Valter’s Hilchot Shabbat class got a first hand view at what it means to thresh and winnow. In order to understand the melachot of dosh and zoreh, they extracted wheat by stomping on it. They then threw it up in the air to let the wind separate the wheat (good) from the chaff (bad).
