Linking Northern and Central NJ, Bronx, Manhattan, Westchester and CT

RPRY smelled like Shabbos this Friday thanks to the newly inaugurated eighth grade Cholent Club. Students who volunteered for the club will be responsible for making the weekly cholent for the middle school Friday onegs. Students began this week with a trip to the keilim mikvah to tovel the crock pot while learning about some of the laws of טבילת כלים. Students will be trying out different recipes and perfecting them to feed the entire middle school. Stay tuned for a possible cholent contest. The first oneg, which featured an inspiring dvar Torah and story and beautiful singing to prepare for Shabbos and Yom Kippur, was truly a hit because of the delicious cholent to go along with it. Kol hakavod to the students who took the initiative and demonstrated leadership to try something new and make this special program happen. The oneg was an opportunity to build the ruach of the school, to turn Friday into ערב שבת and prepare for Shabbos in a meaningful way.
