RPRY Students Get Creative in Art

RPRY’s fourth grade art students tackled a Rube Goldberg/Mark Rober-style project, designing a machine using everyday and found objects that accomplishes a simple task. Students were divided into collaborative groups that worked together to identify a task and then design and build the machine that would accomplish that task.

In addition to being a most engaging project, students practiced collaborating, weighing the positives and negatives of using certain materials and, most importantly, thinking of setbacks as challenges rather than using them as excuses to give up—this is the growth mindset that is always a part of the art program at RPRY.
