The RTMA Thunder spent last Shabbat in the Five Towns for the HAFTR invitational basketball tournament weekend, in memory of Scott Satran.

One of sixteen participating yeshivot, RTMA was singled out for its characteristic ruach and the exemplary middot displayed by its players.

“Our boys were noted for their contributions to the Shabbat tefillot, layning and divrei Torah,” said Director of Student Life Rabbi Yisroel Rich.

Players Gideon Hagler of Elizabeth and Yitzchak Kapetas, of Brooklyn were named All-Stars during the tournament’s finale.

“In one weekend they went from leading the zemirot in the three seudot of Shabbat to leading their team in scoring on the courts,” said Rabbi Rich in reference to the All-Stars. “It was an amazing weekend.”
