RTMA Student Takes Fourth Place in National Chidon HaTanach Finals

When it comes to Chidon HaTanach, the Pascher brothers of Elizabeth are certainly making their mark and adding some feathers to the Rav Teitz Mesivta Academy’s cap.

This season, freshman Noah Pascher took fourth place nationally in the Chidon HaTanach final that took place at Manhattan Day School.

Establishing himself as front-runner throughout the competition, he consistently placed within the top few students from across the country, even those years his senior. Noah’s final result came as no surprise to educators at the RTMA or his parents.

“I am very proud of Noah,” said his mother. RoAnna Pascher, who is a member of the JEC’s board of trustees. “He worked very hard (with the help of his coach, his father Moshe) to learn the Tanach sections and his diligence paid off.”

Noah’s younger brother David, an RTMA middle school eighth grader, also reached the finals in the middle school Chidon HaTanach category.

“I am also proud of my son David for having the diligence to reach the middle school finals,” said Pascher. “I’m proud that both of my sons are students at RTMA, which has provided them the foundation of knowledge and respect for the Torah as well as a quality college preparatory education.”

Joining the Pascher brothers at the recent Chidon HaTanach finals was RTMA freshman Ben Tziyon Kapustin of West Orange and three students from the JEC’s Bruriah division: seventh grader Shana Schwartz of Hillside and sophomores Mili Chizuk of Highland Park, and Shana Erblich of Hillside who, along with Noah Pascher, impressively entered the finals as one of the three top scorers nationally.
