Rubenstein Family Will Dedicate Sefer Torah at Annual Heichal HaTorah Dinner

“We are honored and overjoyed,” exclaimed Rav Aryeh Stechler, rosh yeshiva of Heichal HaTorah in Teaneck, over the very special dedication and commemoration taking place on Sunday, April 2, at Heichal’s annual dinner.

In honor of their parents’ ninth yahrtzeit, the children of Rabbi Jacob and Deborah Rubenstein, z”l, are presenting the yeshiva with a sefer Torah they had written in their parents’ memory.

“My parents were committed to the values, teachings and lessons of the Torah, which were exemplified in every aspect of their lives, every day of their lives,” Daniel Rubenstein wrote in a letter to friends and supporters of the yeshiva. “They were leaders in Jewish education and were dedicated to inspiring the youth in their convictions and in instilling pride in their Jewish identity. They believed that by educating and connecting with the youth, the continuation of our mesorah would be ensured and the community as a whole would be elevated.”

“The Rubenstein family practices the ideals we teach at our yeshiva,” Rav Stechler said. “Rabbi and Mrs. Rubenstein were leaders of their community, teachers of Torah and role models for their congregants and children. Their sons, daughters and grandchildren continue to lead lives loyal to that legacy. I can think of no greater gift than this sefer Torah—the first to be housed permanently at Heichal—which will be read every week, and connect our boys to Hashem’s Divine mission for them.”

“We are overjoyed that our Torah will be used daily by the young talmidim of Heichal HaTorah, and that my parents’ legacy will continue to thrive in the present and live on in future generations,” Daniel Rubenstein added. “We hope that the passion they had for their community and for Torah will emanate through this gift, that it will transcend the scroll and radiate the light, wisdom and teachings the Torah holds, and most importantly that it will be internalized by those who use it.”

Heichal HaTorah’s annual dinner will take place on Sunday, April 2 (7 Nissan), at 5:30 p.m., at Heichal HaTorah, 70 Sterling Place, Teaneck, NJ 07666. To make a reservation or donation, please visit www.HeichalHaTorah.org/dinner.
