RYNJ fourth and fifth grade classes were inspired at their Yom HaShoah assembly as they listened intently to Evie Leifer, a beloved RYNJ teacher. Mrs. Leifer shared the experience of her incredible mother, Ann Lipmanowicz a”h, and her family during the Holocaust; how she was saved and how she rebuilt her life afterward. Students stood silently for a powerful minute to reflect on the day and its meaning. The legacy of all of the survivors, and those who were lost, live on through each and every Jew today—in the way we continue to trust in Hashem, follow the Torah and show kindness and love to one another.
