In connection with Parshat Bo, RYNJ’s 4B enjoyed an amazing presentation on how a pair of tefillin is made. The presentation, by RYNJ rebbe and talented sofer Rabbi Dovid Shonek, was comprehensive, informative and exciting, as the boys learned all about the materials used in making the different pieces of a set of tefillin, and the process by which a single pair is made. They also heard inspirational stories about the power of tefillin, told masterfully by Rabbi Shonek. After this, they were able to actually touch and roll a real klaf, and practice inserting it into a bayit, as well as observe Rabbi Shonek as he wrote actual letters on parchment. What an incredible opportunity.
