RYNJ 4th Grade Girls Wow Holocaust Survivors

On May 15, the amazing fourth grade girls of Rosenbaum Yeshiva of North Jersey went to Care One of Teaneck. They were there to entertain the Café Europa Holocaust survivors at a special luncheon sponsored by the Jewish Family Service of Bergen and North Hudson. Under the musical direction of Mrs. Harriet Zitter (aka Morah Hadassa), more than 50 young ladies participated.

As a child of survivors, Mrs. Zitter expressed the pride she felt at having this opportunity to perform for such special people. The young ladies sang a variety of pieces including: “Together,” “All the Nations of the World,” “Vhi sheamda,” various Jerusalem songs including “Yerushalyim shel Zahav”, a song requested by the audience, “Baruch Hagever” with hand motions, “Ashreinu,” “Yesh Tikvah,” and “Kol Yisroel Chaverim.” The students were accompanied by their teachers, Morah Packer, and Morah Schuh.

There was lots of applause when Mrs. Zitter said there is no greater consolation and hope for our future continuity than seeing these wonderful girls perform. A great time was had by all.
