This past Thursday evening, RYNJ Jaguars girls basketball hosted Yeshiva of Central Queens in what was their final regular season home game before the playoffs. Before the game a presentation was held to honor the parents of each of the RYNJ girls basketball student-athletes. Coach Shaina Stiefel started it off with a speech thanking the parents of the team for everything they do for their student-athletes and RYNJ athletics in general, including but not limited to rides to and from practice and coming out to support their children during their games. The RYNJ student-athletes then each presented a white rose to their mother with a note on it thanking them for being “the best teammate they could ever ask for.” There were also white roses given to the Yeshiva of Central Queens’ student-athletes to give to their parents to thank as well. RYNJ went on to win the game 43-20, making their record 7-0 on the season.
