On January 1, when RYNJ students in grades four to eight had yeshiva on Zoom, 58 students in grades one through three participated in over an hour of Torah learning and parsha activities. Rabbi Wachtel led a learning session entitled “Are there books, chapters, paragraphs and sentences in the Torah?” and connected the topic to Parshat Vayechi. Mr. Engel told a STORAH, which is a story based on the Torah and Morah Judi Dimbert led a parsha project where students created a flag with a picture that highlighted their passion or individual quality, similar to the 12 shevatim, with each tribe’s flag highlighting its uniqueness amongst Bnei Yisrael.
