This past January the RYNJ seventh graders made a visit as “mitzvah clowns” to The Hebrew Home at Riverdale. That trip was designed to give the girls an interactive opportunity to experience the mitzvah of chesed. They did an impressive job on that visit and the Home asked if we would return.
RYNJ students were equally impressive in performing their production of “Snow White” in Ivrit for the residents of The Hebrew Home at Riverdale last week.
Before and after the show, the girls went over to greet and mingle with the residents. When the RYNJ performers were not on stage, they sat next to the residents and interacted with them as well. These Talmidot knew exactly how to engage the residents, making each one feel special. One resident mentioned how much she appreciated the fact that the girls put on their play for them as it took her back to a time when she was a young girl.
