Twin sisters Miriam and Shayna Marcus, students at Rosenbaum Yeshiva of North Jersey, became bnot mitzvah last Shabbat and decided to learn Perek Shirah in the zechut for a refuah shleimah for Shira Bat Devorah Leah. To further the mitzvah, the Marcus family donated the Artscroll Perek Shirah to the fifth-grade girls at RYNJ.
The sisters planned a Zoom event to celebrate their accomplishment, and the day of the Zoom coincided with the 16th yahrzeit of the Seidenfeld children. To mark the day, Philyss Seindenfeld arranged for “Thank you Hashem” pamphlets to be prepared, and shared words of inspiration with the class. The Marcus family helped distribute the pamphlets to local yeshivot and stores, including Glatt Express and Judaica House.
The girls learned from both Perek Shirah and the “Todah l’Hashem” that “it is important to praise and thank Hashem for everything that happens, whether good or bad, because it all comes from Hashem’s plan, even if we cannot see it at the moment,” said their mother, Debbie Marcus. “We must have emunah and do mitzvot to sustain us, daven for refuot shleimah for the sick and be zoche for the the coming of the Moshiach Bimhera B”Yameinu.”
Debbie continued: “In the zechut of our learning for Miriam and Shayna’s bnot mitzvot, may Hashem show nissim v’niflo-ot and give Shira bat Devorah Leah a speedy refuah shleimah.”
