Erev Shabbos Parshas Bo was the kickoff for RYNJ lower school’s exciting new Torah learning program: Shabbos Sunday Shteiging. Students were inspired by a story told by Rabbi Eliezer Abish, RYNJ fifth grade rebbe, about the Vilna Gaon. Rabbi Abish explained that each of us has the ability to hold up the world when studying Torah. On a voluntary basis, students will be reviewing what they learned in class the previous week. All participants will receive a weekly prize along with weekly raffles, class parties and a quarterly grand raffle. The goal of the program is to promote daily Torah learning and emphasize the importance of chazara or review. The first week saw nearly 300 participants from the kower school with two very proud and happy raffle winners.
