The overwhelming majority of RYNJ students in grades one through five participated in the annual Succot Vacation Checklist. Each vacation time at RYNJ gives students the opportunity to monitor their avodat Hashem. From Torah learning to tefillah, demonstrating midot tovot and reciting brachot, students held themselves accountable for keeping Hashem “front and center” even when not in school. Participants earned a seder hashkamat haboker card which sends the message that by performing mitzvot over vacation, children earn a prize which encourages them to do even more mitzvot. The hope is that students will use this card on Shabbos and Sunday mornings—and of course when they travel on vacation.
