SAR Academy students (165!) and staff members took part in an at-home Mishna Yomit initiative and learned two mishnayot a day (most with their parents) and over the course of six years will complete all six sedarim of the Mishna. At SAR, these motivated students and staff are members of “Mishna Marathoners” and this group is ever-growing. SAR supports its Mishna Marathoners at school with mini siyumim after each mashechet and by offering nightly Zooms led by parent volunteers, the amazing Mishna Marathoner Mentors.
On Monday, the SAR Mishna Marathoners completed Seder Moed! They dedicated the siyum and their learning in the zechut of the safety and welfare of Am Yisrael and Medinat Yisrael and marked this incredible milestone with the entire school “on the steps” along with tefillot and Tehillim for Israel and the singing of “Acheinu” led by Mishna Marathoners. Following the siyum, Mishna Marathoners gathered for a separate program that included student divrei Torah and special treats. A huge mazal tov to the 70 SAR Academy students, seven staff members and many parents who completed all of Seder Moed (12 Masechtot, 681 Mishnayot!). Mazal tov also to the 75 students and 13 staff members who completed a number of masechtot in Seder Moed. Thank you to the wonderful team of Mishna Marathoner Mentors, and yashar koach to Morah Sarah Richter for spearheading this initiative at SAR Academy. Two Mishnayot a day goes a long way! Keep up the great work Mishna Marathoners! In these dark times may their Torah learning serve as a light.
