Linking Northern and Central NJ, Bronx, Manhattan, Westchester and CT

At SAR Academy, Adar was a month of joy-packed adventure. The excitement kicked off on Rosh Chodesh Adar with students dressed in blue and white, Hallel filling the building, a lively ELC carnival and spirited activities like lower school Shabbat Shira and a Middle School Purim Bowl.

As the countdown to Purim began, “Adar Madness” took over. Each day SAR Academy embraced the spirit of Adar with different joyful and meaningful themes and events. Students rocked funky socks and silly hats, sported their school spirit and their favorite jerseys, and twirled in tie-dye and tutus. From rollerblading thrills to a hilarious ventriloquist show and even a teacher swap, every day brought a new twist of fun.

But the magic did not stop there. Special highlights included Power of Words Day, a topsy-turvy carnival, and pony rides and sweet treats from Rita’s Ices.

Adar Madness culminated with a very special Purim. It is a longstanding tradition of holding school on Purim, allowing us to celebrate as a community and learn together. Families joined in last Friday for Megillah readings led by faculty and students. Students brought in change from home and continued to collect Matanot L’Evyonim, before an early send-off to continue the celebrations at home.

Through it all, the SAR school community focused on the resilience of the Jewish people throughout history and prayed for the safe return of all hostages, for the healing of those injured and for the protection of our chayalim.
