SAR Academy Goes on Trips

SAR Academy’s fifth graders enjoyed their annual Yom Sadeh, a fun-filled field day and late night. The day began with a beautiful tefillah with the entire grade davening outdoors in Gan Ilan, SAR’s rooftop garden. Then, after breakfast, the students boarded the buses for a trip to Pardess Chabad Farm in Hopewell Junction, New York with GrowTorah. There, they enjoyed a wide range of activities: planting, tractor riding, walking along a stream, taking care of goats, learning about safrut, sports and enjoying a delicious pizza lunch. When the students returned to SAR, they cooled off at an ice cream party and participated in fantastic team-building activities before enjoying dinner, S’mores, a kumzitz and an outdoor movie on the field.

Sixth graders also spent quality time outdoors last week during their overnight stay at Camp Moshava IO, where they had a chance to bond, learn and play together through group dynamic activities and cooperative hands-on experiences. From galgaloning (rolling in giant inflatable hamster balls), boating and ziplining to tie dying, archery and pizza making using a taboon, the students enjoyed some fun-packed days in nature.
