It was a joy to welcome so many SAR Academy families to school this week to celebrate several exciting events. Parents, grandparents and great-grandparents (!) joined fifth graders for Yom Dor L’Dor, a meaningful intergenerational day of learning, highlighted by a visit to the fifth grade Living History Museum which showcased special family artifacts. First graders received their Siddurim, while parents and grandparents joined to celebrate this wonderful milestone at their Siddur Play. In middle school, the sixth grade Gemara Night offered students the chance to showcase their learning with their parents. The SAR Academy Parent Association coordinated a fun movie night for first through fourth graders. In addition to the many in-person happenings, SAR hosted virtual parenting workshops including Siddur Sparks, a guide to helping children connect with their tefillot, an Early Learning Center workshop on managing emotions in children and a review of tools for promoting mental health and well-being in the children shared by the guidance team.
