Families gathered at SAR Academy for an immersive arts experience produced by students. The evening featured more than 30 art exhibits—by first through eighth graders—that span numerous disciplines, from a Graffiti for Good workshop honoring the memory of Ben Levick Sullivan z”l sponsored by Janet Levick to digital to fiber art. Visitors participated in 15 hands-on activities and enjoyed performances by two live bands and third, fourth and fifth graders. Guests also enjoyed a light dinner and a tasting of Kela Ilan wine (an SAR exclusive wine label created in memory of Ilan Tokayer z”l to support building a Gan Ilan garden for Beit Elazraki Children’s Home in Israel).
SAR Academy also celebrated a community siyum Tanach on Erev Shavuot to celebrate the learning of the entire Tanach between Pesach and Shavuot, as has become the minhag for the last 10 years. The learning has beautifully expanded in the last couple of years, with families and many students, joining this meaningful initiative.
The unity of the SAR family for the study of the entire Tanach has been a source of great inspiration. Thank you to everyone who participated and supported this initiative.
