SAR Academy Leagues End Great Seasons

(SAR Sports) By popular demand, SAR Academy formed its first-ever middle school ultimate frisbee team and they just made history. SAR won the NY Middle School Athletic League ultimate frisbee championship. In the championship game, SAR beat Baruch 11 to 8—a grand finale to an undefeated season involving 14 local public and private school teams. Thank you to SAR High School senior Coach Boaz for guiding the team in teamwork and sportsmanship and for leading them to victory. Mazal tov to players Aharon, Akiva, Coby, Eli, Ezra, Gilad, James, Jonah, Lev, Miles, Nathaniel, Noam, Yakir, Yishai, Yona (MVP!) and ZZ on a fantastic season. It was exciting to celebrate this win as a school community with a team parade throughout the school building.

SAR Academy first and second grade athletes and their coaches stepped up to the plate and finished a home-run of a season as well. The first and second grade SAR Academy softball league played its final game on Sunday at SAR Academy and everyone left the field a winner. The non-competitive league is designed to introduce children to the sport in a fun, relaxed and team-oriented way. The league is composed of four teams that play seven games on Sunday mornings. Each player rotates field positions and there are no strikeouts. (The children are offered a tee if they don’t make contact with the ball after three tries). On Sunday, each player received a trophy and some ice cream, a great end to a great season.
