SAR Defeats Yavneh in YMSSA 6G Championship

The Yavneh girls put up a good fight but fell to an undefeated SAR team in the YMSSA Cahmpionship game.

Coach Jen Sanders was impressed by the effort from every member of the squad. Emma Sohnen went man-to-man against SAR’s center, one of the league’s best players, making her earn every basket and rebound. Kira Elbaum and Michal Meisels helped run the offense. Tamar Fineberg, Rebecca Adler, and Emma Soclof played the two, prevented shots from the wings in the zone, and came up with a few key steals. Evie Gutlove played tenacious defense, coming up with a couple of huge steals. Zoey Buchsbayew was a presence down low with a few put backs. Nava Klayn, Aria Molovany, Mia East, and Kayla Waitman subbed when needed and supported the girls on the court throughout the game.

Yavneh Principal, Rabbi Knapp, was equally proud of his team and coach Sanders. He told JLBC, “Coach Sanders consistently motivated our students and urged them to play to their potential.”

Congratulations to the SAR 6G Sting on an undefeated season.
