As the sun was setting at the start of the 33rd day of the Omer, students gathered in the parking lot to grill with Mr. Roschwalb, Ms. Szafranski and Mr. Steier, they then boarded the bus to attend the Lag B’Omer festivities in Kiryat Joel. The Kiryat Joel community gathers together to celebrate Lag B’Omer in song and dance, including lighting a large bonfire. Students joined the community, as well as thousands of other Jews from all over the tri-state area, dancing and celebrating the day. They witnessed the lighting of the bonfire, heard the traditional niggunim sung on Lag B’Omer and partook in many of the festivities of night. Although they got back late, it was a night of both inspiration and fun!
On Lag B’Omer day, as students headed outdoors to enjoy the beautiful day, they were met with music, a BBQ and small bonfires. They gathered together to eat lunch outdoors, roasting marshmallows and enjoying the weather. It was a great way to get outside and enjoy the spirit of the day!
