SAR HS Sophomores Go Camping

How did you spend the night before the last day of school?

For 30 tenth graders at SAR High School, the year ended with—what else—a Camping Trip!

The annual SAR 10th grade camping trip took place last week, as 30 students and five faculty members made their way to the wilderness of Fahnestock State Park in Carmel, New York.

The event was a memorable one for all attendees with a beautiful evening spent bonding with nature and with each other.

Highlights of the trip included a two-mile hike to John Allen Pond where some students spontaneously jumped in for a swim, a moving slow shira kumsitz by the campfire, Divrei Torah and ghost stories, midnight stargazing, a guided meditation, followed by a Cotton Eye Joe line dance.

The event concluded in the morning with Shacharit in a beautiful natural setting, where students could express gratitude to Hashem for creating such a beautiful planet and equally beautiful souls to share it with. What a great way to end the school year!
