The excitement was palpable in the gym during last week’s activity period. Health Club leaders Lizzie H., Maddie D. and Yakira R., along with Coach Gryzlo, ran a very successful charity pickleball tournament, promoting the theme of “Do Your Part to Save a Heart.”
There was an excellent turnout from faculty and students across every grade, and more than 20 teams competed in the tournament. Over $300 was raised for the cause from registration fees, donations and the sales of healthy snacks. All proceeds went to the American Heart Association.
“The students were very motivated and responsible for getting everything done,” says Gryzlo. “We worked together to make this event a success.”
“We had such a great time organizing and participating in the event and we’re so grateful to everyone who participated and donated,” says co-organizer Maddie D. “We hope to do this again next year and we can’t wait to see everyone there!”
