SAR JV Basketball Takes Two-in-a-Row

The JV Sting soundly defeated Heschel last week, 40-30, raising its record to 8-1. SAR was led by Daniel Wisotsky’s 15 points and Sammy Sokol’s 10. Down 4 in a sloppy first half, SAR switched to a press in the second half and the players’ energy level was raised. Zach Reich provided an incredible spark off the bench, lifting SAR to victory with clutch layups, defensive rebounds, and heady play overall.

On Sunday the Sting defeated MTA in their final game of the regular season, 31-27, raising their record to 9-1 and capturing the top seed in the Western Conference. SAR was led by Dovie Marcus’ 12 points, including 4 for 4 at the free throw line in the final minutes, and two 3-pointers. Nati Marcus and Zach Reich each chipped in 9 points, with Nati taking over the 3rd quarter after SAR was down 4 at the half. Reich hit two 3-pointers and clinched the game up by 3 with two seconds to play by draining a free throw. SAR now has a first round bye.
