SAR Seventh Grade Visits Boston

On May 29-30, the seventh grade at SAR Academy went on the annual trip to Boston, highlighting what we learned this past school-year about the American Revolution. On a perfect spring day, the first stop was the Boston Tea Party Museum, where students re-enacted the event, by tossing boxes of tea into the harbor and later seeing a chest from the night of the actual Boston Tea Party. After a visit to Quincy Market, they boarded the famous Duck Tours, where all the students were allowed to take turns driving the boats in the water and were very entertained by talented tour guides. Boston University’s Hillel hosted the group for dinner and then we were off to a night activity at Boda Borg, a unique reality gaming experience.

The second day began with heavy rain but ended up being a beautiful day. The first stop of day two was at the Witch Dungeon Museum in Salem, then a tour of Fenway Park to see the famous green monster, a stop at the Museum of Science and then enjoying the delicious JP Licks. Before heading home, the day ended with dinner in Boston Commons, with food from Rami’s.

Overall, it was exciting to see our classroom come to life as they explored the City of Boston.
