Linking Northern and Central NJ, Bronx, Manhattan, Westchester and CT

On December 21, in front of a packed homecoming crowd, Varsity Boys Basketball defeated Flatbush 44-24 to improve its regular season record to 6-1.

The Sting started out on a dominating 11-2 run, jumped out to an 11-6 lead after one quarter and a 20-9 lead at the half. The Sting’s success was largely due in part to the teams inside game.

In the second half, the Sting’s three-pointers were still not falling (they had zero on the day), but the inside presence of center Sammy Marcus and relentless drives to the basket by starting guards Daniel Jonas and Sammy Hyman were enough to help the Sting go home with a comfortable victory.

Hyman led the way for SAR with 17 points, Marcus finished with 9, and forward Zach Wohlberg had 7 on the evening. On his birthday, Shenwick led the charge on the defensive end of the court.

Nathan Haddad led the Falcons with 9 points, and Buddy Settzu and Meyer Mizrahi each had 4 in the loss.
