In addition to learning about Lag B’Omer and Rabbi Akiva, RPRY students got to celebrate with a fun and festive day at the park. Being out in the field like Rabbi Shimon Bar Yohai and practicing sportsmanship was a great testament to Rabbi Akiva’s major lesson of “v’ahavta lereiacha kamocha, love your neighbor as yourself”. There were games, such as soccer, capture the flag and kickball, as well as canteen, all run by the eighth grade students. This is one of the many opportunities to see students shine outside the classroom at RPRY.
