February 10 marked The Idea School’s first participation in Sharsheret Pink Day. Pink Day is a global day of awareness and education, where we have the opportunity to raise awareness about breast cancer and cancer genetics, and honor, recognize or celebrate a special person in our lives who has faced breast cancer. In a personal message to the students, Head of School Tikvah Wiener shared what Sharsheret Founder Rochelle Shoretz was like—a force of nature—and how even until she died, she thought positively and practically. One of her favorite sayings that continues to inspire and that informed a major value of the school: “There are no problems, just solutions waiting to happen.”
