100 Is the Theme of the Day at JKHA

Lower School students at the Joseph Kushner Hebrew Academy have been counting the days of school and eagerly awaiting the 100th day. Classes spent the day doing a variety of activities. They were engaged in making 100’s inspired art museums; collecting 100 items; writing 100 tally marks; listing 100 adjectives; and playing math games centered around the number 100. Some students even came dressed as if they were 100 years old.

The 100th day of school gives teachers and students a celebratory way to focus on mathematics for the day. On the 100th day, classes have the opportunity to focus on the power of math with age-appropriate activities all the way from nursery through fourth grade—a wonderful way to celebrate numbers.

In addition to the classroom activities, Lower School students participated in a meaningful way to commemorate the 100th day with 100 acts of kindness. Each class recorded the many acts of kindness they observed throughout the day. All 100 acts of kindness are proudly displayed in the hallways of the Lower School.
