On July 4, 350 staff members and 650 campers from across the globe, including Teaneck, Woodmere, Florida, California, Israel, the UK and Canada, officially made Camp Mesorah their home for the summer.

After five fantastic days of staff orientation with team building exercises, round robin discussions, group sessions, trips and activities, Camp Mesorah counselors, specialty staff, and administration are ready to give Mesorah campers the best summer of their lives.

Mesorah’s new state of the art dining room, new canteen with fireplace, intricate ropes course and brand new aerobics and spinning room are nothing short of outstanding. All winter long, Mesorah’s operations department was busy building and improving the grounds to get ready for summer 2016 – the camp’s largest summer yet.

The benefits of summer camp are immeasurable. There are many profound positive effects that being in camp have on children (and adults), especially those who spend their days in a caring, Torah-oriented environment like Mesorah. When campers are engaged in physical activity, exposed to a myriad of activities, connected with nature and unplugged from technology, they have an incredible opportunity to gain confidence, grow more independent and make lasting friendships.

When walking the road at Camp Mesorah, the atmosphere of inclusiveness and fun draws everyone together. Once can always find campers singing, laughing, talking, playing and dancing – simply having the time of their lives.

At the conclusion of the first day of camp, after connecting with old friends and starting to make new ones, campers and staff gathered near the lake and experienced a spectacular fireworks show. The camp gathered both in celebration of Independence Day and to kick off the start of a magical summer.
