Yeshivat He’Atid pre-k students heard the story “The Snowy Day” by Ezra Jack Keats. In the story, a snowman melted in a child’s pocket. The children created a deconstructed form of a melting snowman with shaving cream and glue. They also had the option of using geometric shapes. After their snowmen were complete, the students wrote up creative reasons why their snowman may have melted. “He spilled coffee in his lap,” “He went to the beach,” and “He got sick with a fever” are just a few of the clever reasons the children gave for why their snowman melted.
