As part of their winter unit Moriah’s pre-k students became scientists! They took two ice cubes and held one ice cube in an ungloved hand and the other ice cube in a hand with a glove. They could not believe how cold the ice cube in their plain hand felt and how quickly it began to melt from the warmth of their hand! The ice cube they held in their gloved hand did not melt quickly and they could barely feel its coldness! The students were amazed at how well their gloves kept the heat of their body inside and the coldness of the ice cube out! They will be sure to have a pair of mittens or gloves on hand throughout the winter!
