TABC boys wear pink! The school marked Pink Day on Wednesday, February 15 with an inspiring program planned by longtime TABC faculty member Donna Hoenig, who has served as the chief architect of Pink Day since its inception (at TABC!) over 15 years ago. After davening on Wednesday, students and faculty were privileged to hear words of inspiration from Danit Macklin, mother of junior Amitai Macklin who spoke about her personal experience with illness and the importance of having bitachon during difficult times, maintaining a positive attitude and giving back to others. She distributed packaged bags of Hershey’s Kisses to all the students before everyone headed down for a delicious breakfast of pink doughnuts as well as the annual school-wide Pink Day picture, which was taken by student-photographers seniors Samson Bierig and Shlomo Stobezki. Rav Ari Solomon ‘18 then shared an inspiring dvar Torah to conclude the program.

In honor of the day, students rallied together to raise money for three amazing organizations: Sharsheret, which provides breast cancer support at every stage; The Lemonade Fund, which provides emergency financial aid to breast cancer patients in Israel; and Do Wonders, which provides wigs to women and children undergoing cancer treatment. Led by Ms. Hoenig, TABC Pink Day ambassadors* sold kippot as well as raffle tickets for custom sneakers designed by Rav Ari, who aside from teaching at TABC also designs custom cleats for MLB stars.

Congratulations to sophomore Sammy Levine on his win and special thanks to the Horn family (senior Jacob and freshman Akiva) for generously sponsoring the Pink Day kippot in memory of their mother and grandmother, Paula Horn, z”l.

Together, the TABC family raised $7,500 for these worthy organizations. Yasher koach!
