Tenafly—Lubavitch on the Palisades Elementary School held its second annual Science Day. It was a hands-on and interactive experience. Students each went to four learning stations that included topics on static electricity, air pressure, buoyancy, engineering, the solar system, nutrition, rocks and minerals, and art. In art, students used scientific processes to create their own colorful rubber balls. Students had a joyous and educational time as they maneuvered between stations, made predictions, did experiments, and drew conclusions.
As a culminating activity, the students had the big Egg Drop Contest. Students created contraptions that were designed to protect an egg. Eggs were dropped from a high ladder, thanks to Mr. Lou, and inspected to see if they remained intact. Surprisingly, most of the eggs remained intact. There are a bunch of future engineers at LPS!
