Scooter Rams Into Border Police in Samaria; Two Border Police Hurt

(Ilana Messika/TPS) On Tuesday afternoon, two scooters hit a Border Police armored vehicle on Junction 400 near Jenin in northern Judea and Samaria, injuring two officers who were standing next to the impact point.

In the afternoon, Border Police officers set up a roadblock on Junction 400 before the Jalama checkpoint. At about 17:00, during the operation, several scooters (from four to seven) were identified being driven in the opposite direction and coming toward the roadblock. Some passed the Border Police even though the latter signaled for them to stop.

When additional scooters came into view, the police also attempted to stop them, but while some succeeded in veering away, two of them rammed into an armored vehicle and the impact injured two Border Police officers, one man and one woman, who were standing next to it. The injured woman was transferred to the Rambam Medical Center in Haifa by a Magen David Adom helicopter that had arrived at Megiddo landing ground and continued to attend to her in flight. The male officer was transferred in light condition to the HaEmek Medical Center in Afula and Border Police reported he was released on Wednesday.
