US Senator Corey Booker (D-N.J.) will be the highlight speaker for this year’s Rosenbaum Yeshiva of North Jersey (RYNJ) Scholar Reception, Sunday, May 3, 7:30 p.m., at the school’s campus in River Edge.
The scholarship reception serves as the anchor for RYNJ’s largest fundraising campaign of the year. This year’s honorees include 13 alumni who have proudly returned to teach at the school. They are: Naomi Danzger, Rabbi Raphy Goldstein, Chana Greenberg, Deena Katz, Gail Landerer, Daniella Lejtman, Sarah Levy, Penina Richman, Yedida Rosenbaum, Bracha Schreiber, Miriam Stanislavsky, Mira Stokar, and Chana Rossman.
According to the school: “RYNJ is committed to giving each child in our community a rich Torah and secular education taught with love, understanding, and dedication. This commitment means that we open our doors to all families regardless of their ability to pay. As our school grows, so do the number of requests for financial aid. The need for financial assistance is even more acute in economically difficult times. The Scholarship Fund provides us with an opportunity to fulfill our sages’ dictum that our first obligation is to our community and the children who are its future.”
Senator Booker, the former Newark Mayor, is a proven leader committed to social and financial reform. HIs priorities of creating new jobs, improving economic opportunity for all New Jersey residents, and addressing the economic squeeze facing middle-class families are shared by all. He is a proud sponsor of the State of Israel, and we are honored that he has chosen our venue to show his support for the Jewish community.
RYNJ urges members of the community to attend, meet the senator, and participate in the scholarship reception. To make a pledge, please email [email protected].
