Trenton–Senate Majority Leader Loretta Weinberg reacted to Governor Chris Christie’s State of the State address by decrying the governor for offering “no vision and no plans” for New Jersey. “It’s unfortunate the governor feels his record of accomplishment includes the number of ‘likes’ on Facebook, views on YouTube, and the number of appearances of his fleece on Saturday Night Live,” said Weinberg. “…We are facing real challenges… The governor talked about a New Jersey renewal, but failed to lay out a vision for creating one. New Jersey’s economy is lagging behind our neighbors and the nation, our infrastructure is failing, and the tax burden continues to weigh heaviest on the middle class and working poor. The residents deserve the respect of a governor that focuses on their needs, and he failed to show that. This was incredibly disappointing. We will continue the work on initiatives that will provide relief to the residents of New Jersey, to attract jobs and economic growth and to fix our crumbling roads and bridges. The residents of the state deserve nothing less.”
