Sephardic Congregation of Fort Lee Hosts Summer Kollel for YU Students

A group of nine Yeshiva University rabbinical students took part in a high-level kollel this summer at the Sephardic Congregation of Fort Lee. Under the guidance of Rabbi Netanel Wiederblank, rav at Yeshiva University who teaches both college and semicha students, the group has undertaken an in-depth study of Shabbat and the laws of muktzeh. The kollel members enjoyed the warm hospitality of the Sephardic congregation members. The blend of classic Moroccan Jewish culture with the diverse nature of the YU students’ backgrounds created a striking display of Jewish unity, promoting the learning the laws of the Day of Rest that connect us all.

The rabbinic group also spent time teaching members of the congregation, giving various shiurim and enhancing the daily minyan with their presence.

This was the third consecutive year that the shul has sponsored this program, and this partnership has benefited both the congregation and the YU students.
