Sephardic Heritage Month Continues in Moriah Early Childhood

Moriah’s early childhood has been learning about Sephardic Jewry! Focusing on Sephardic recipes and discovering interesting customs from Sephardic friends has been awesome. Moms came in to help bake Sephardic delicacies. Listening to instrumental Sephardic music throughout the day was exciting and different! One of the morot grew up in Iran and told the story about some of the customs of her Sephardic family! After the abba recites the bracha over challah on Shabbat, he tears and throws small pieces of challah to each person around the table! No knives are used on the table on Shabbat so they don’t cut the challah with a knife. The children were fascinated to see their names written in Farsi. Each name looks like a beautiful design! Mamnoon (that’s Farsi for thank you)! So wonderful to learn from one another!
