Shaare Tefillah will host Rabbi Dr. Jeremy Wieder as scholar-in-residence this Shabbat, August 11. He will speak following davening in the morning on “Building a Community Rooted in Torah Values: The ‘Value of Money’.” He also will speak in the main shul between the 7:30 p.m. Mincha and the 8:43 p.m. Maariv on “Lifnim MiShurat HaDin—A Torah Perspective on Property Rights.”

Rabbi Wieder is the Joseph and Gwendolyn Straus Professor of Talmud in the University’s Mazer Yeshiva Program and is an Adjunct Professor of Bible in Yeshiva College. He was ordained by RIETS and holds a PhD in Judaic Studies from New York University.
