The Tenafly Chabad Academy middle school students are treated twice a month to an uplifting oneg to bring in Shabbat. The onegs are led by faculty member Rabbi Benzion Scheinfeld.

Rabbi Scheinfeld is a unique person whose love of life and all its facets inspires the students every day. Rabbi Scheinfeld is also the innovator of a game-changing extracurricular program known as Shiriyah. Shiriyah has transformed the Frisch Yeshiva, among others, into a school that not only engages students’ minds but also touches their hearts and allows them to express their inner passion for Judaism. Rabbi Scheinfeld is now bringing this passion to Tenafly Chabad Academy.

Students have an amazing time getting into the spirit of Shabbat singing and dancing to “Minyan Man” and other songs to bring in Shabbat. With the assistance of Morah Nancy, Rabbi Scheinfeld uses the latest technology to encourage the students to sing along. They have been learning classic niggunim, as well as the latest Jewish songs. The students end the oneg dancing and singing and go home very excited to bring in Shabbat. This is one of the many programs Tenafly Chabad Academy brings to its students to strengthen their bonds with Judaism.
