Shabbat Project Returns to West Orange

The West Orange community is excited to announce that The Shabbat Project will be back in West Orange on the Shabbat of November 16-18.

This year’s events will begin on Thursday, November 16, with the Great Challah Bake, which will be held from 6:30-7:30 p.m. at Shabbat House. Friday night services on Friday, November 17, will begin at 4:20 p.m. with candle lighting at Congregation Ohr Torah, followed by Shabbat services at both Ohr Torah and B’nai Shalom. Shabbat dinner will be held at B’nai Shalom at 5:30 p.m. and should conclude by 8:30 p.m. Dinner will be catered by Shimon Nissel.

Shabbat morning services on Saturday, November 18, will be held at all of the West Orange shuls, followed by Shabbat lunch at 1:00 p.m. at Shabbat House. RSVP for lunch is required, to Devorah Klar at [email protected] or 973-901-2266.

Shabbat will conclude with a havdalah ceremony and concert on Saturday, November 18, 6:30-8 p.m., at Congregation AABJ&D.

All are welcome. Dinner is free of charge for those not affiliated with a synagogue. Reservations will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.

Shabbat House is located at 664 Eagle Rock Avenue, Congregation Ohr Torah is located at 270 Pleasant Valley Way, B’nai Shalom is located at 300 Pleasant Valley Way and Congregation AABJ&D is located at 700 Pleasant Valley Way.
