Shakespeare’s the Thing at Bruriah

Shakespeare is part of the extensive choice of the electives offered at Bruriah this year. The class explores the universality of the Bard, from his eloquent and enduring words and phrases, to his world-renowned speeches and stories. Taught by Leora Reichenberg, this elective appeals to the many Shakespeare lovers at Bruriah. Students examine how his writing can be interpreted effectively in a variety of places and times as they observe other interpretations of his work and create their own. Reichenberg, who has a bachelor’s degree in English studies and a master’s degree in secondary education says, “I have been teaching high-school English for over 10 years, and absolutely adore bringing life and meaning to old words for a new and talented generation.” Students also incorporate thorough analysis and discussion of Shakespeare’s works to provide layers of depth to his ideas.
