Campaign aims to accommodate 1,000 evacuees from Southern Israel.
(Courtesy of Shalva) Shalva has already opened its doors to hundreds of people who have been evacuated from the south of Israel to Jerusalem. One hundred at risk youth are due to arrive in the coming days, and are expected to stay for a number of weeks as their facility, close to the Gaza border, was totally destroyed. The Shalva National Crisis Response Center has the capacity to provide refuge for 1,000 evacuees at one time and is fully accessible.
Shalva has launched an emergency fund to support their emergency efforts of ensuring the safety and wellbeing of Israel’s most vulnerable during these extremely challenging times. The Shalva National Crisis Response Center is uniquely equipped with reinforced construction throughout the building, several accessible bomb shelters, with five of the 11 floors of the facility below street level offering ultimate shelter. Shalva will be providing the individuals with food, clothing, medications, enhanced security, rehabilitative stability and the social and emotional support they require to process the recent trauma. Shalva is committed to ensuring the safety and wellbeing of Israel’s most vulnerable and must urgently secure the funding to support their mission.
