(Courtesy of Kaplen JCC) The SHIRAH Community Chorus on the Palisades, conducted by Marsha Bryan Edelman, will perform its annual Winter Concert on Sunday, Dec. 8 at 3 p.m. in the Kaplen JCC on the Palisades’ Eric Brown Theater, 411 E. Clinton Avenue in Tenafly. The program, “Miracles and Spirit: A Chanukah Celebration,” will feature celebratory songs from the Jewish choral tradition in Hebrew and English and will be followed by a post-concert reception, underwritten by the Weinflash family.
“As we anticipate the celebration of Chanukah, we’re excited to be presenting traditional and contemporary music associated with the holiday,” Edelman said. “We’ll also be offering a musical thanks for the miracles that have been performed for the Jewish people, in every season. It’s a fun program that we’re sure will delight listeners of all ages.”
Tickets are $16 for JCC members $20 and $20 for the public. Purchase tickets at www.jccotp.org/Thurnauer, call 201-408-1465, or visit the JCC’s front desk.
The chorus is supported by founders Bernie z”l and Ruth z”l Weinflash and their SHIRAH Endowment Fund in tribute to Matthew Lazar, the Ethel and Irving Plutzer Endowment for the SHIRAH Choir and the Rhoda Toonkel Endowment for the SHIRAH Choir and donations from supporters.
