Question: What do you get when you bring together nearly 70 people for a night out of trivia, dinner, wine, raffles and fun in Fair Lawn?
Answer: Shomrei Torah of Fair Lawn’s first-ever trivia night event.
This past Motzei Shabbos (Jan. 30), seven tables’ worth of teams came out to Shomrei Torah of Fair Lawn to enjoy a night of fun, dinner, drinks and prizes, along with few surprises for its first-ever trivia night event.
Using questions, images and sounds, the multi-media contest challenged everyone’s knowledge on such diverse topics as: Famous Last or First Words (“Roads? Where we’re going we don’t need roads.”—Doc Emmet Brown), trivia in and around Bergen County (The only member of both the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the National Inventors Hall of Fame?—Mahwah’s Les Paul) and creative categories such as “Hey, Do Dou like Movies With Clowns??” where contestants had to identify the movie based on an image obfuscated by clown faces of all types (create your own disturbing mental picture).
Interspersed were surprises such as “Shot Glass ID,” where teams identified various substances delivered to their tables in shot glasses, “Solo Player Challenge” where selected participants were randomly selected to come up before the crowd to answer Name the Tune entries under pressure for prizes. This all during an open buffet of chinese food served with red and white wine.
The event, coordinated by Mikki Friedman of Fair Lawn, ended with American Express and Amazon gift card raffles, and trophies and movie passes awarded to the winning team, (incorrectly named “We Bribed the Judges”).
The final answer was a really fun night for all, dreams of clown faces notwithstanding.
