On Wednesday, November 20, the sixth grade girls at SINAI at RYNJ were privileged to host Rebbetzin Chaviva Rothwachs for a challah baking activity. As part of SINAI’s Bat Mitzvah Program (which is funded in its entirety by Jewish Federation NNJ) and in conjunction with the study of famous Jewish role models, the sixth graders learned about Rebbetzin Batsheva Kanievsky z”l. Rebbetzin Kanievsky was well known for her love of all Jews and for her weekly challah baking, which unified women from all over the world. Using Rebbetzin Kanievsky’s recipe, Rebbetzin Rothwachs taught the girls the significance of each ingredient and the importance of girls’ understanding of this special mitzvah. The SINAI students were so grateful to Rebbetzin Rothwachs for providing them with this meaningful and educational experience.
