On Tuesday May 1, SINAI students, friends and family gathered at The Avenue in Teaneck for the sixth annual Unique Inspirations Art Show sponsored by BearGivers. BearGivers is a nonprofit organization led by Chairman and Founder Joseph Sprung and President Diane Lempert, dedicated to creating an environment where children who face challenges are empowered to bring happiness to others through acts of generosity and giving.
In 2012, Steven and Laura Paley established the Paley-Mironov Art Therapy program at SINAI Schools in honor of their parents, Selma and David Mironov, a”h, and Florence and Edward, a”h, Paley. Art therapy is a powerful tool to break through to SINAI students who have emotional challenges and difficulty expressing themselves, enabling them to communicate in unexpected and meaningful ways. Thanks to the generous support of the Paleys, art therapist Sarah Tarzik helps SINAI students use the creative process to address their physical, emotional, cognitive and social needs while developing a love and appreciation for art. Since its inception this program has had a significant impact on the lives of many SINAI students.
SINAI’s Unique Inspirations Art Show was the culmination of our yearlong Paley-Mironov Art Therapy program. Guests at the event were able to experience the world through the eyes of SINAI students and purchase the students’ artwork. Most importantly, the annual Unique Inspirations Art Show once again empowered our children to shine and show pride in their creativity and skill. One hundred percent of the proceeds benefited SINAI Schools’ scholarship fund.
